Prepare preliminary cost estimates during design stages.
Develop detailed cost plans and budgets for construction projects. Provide advice on cost implications of design changes.
2. Tendering & Procurement
Prepare tender documents such as Bills of Quantities (BQ).
Evaluate and compare contractor/subcontractor tenders.
Recommend suitable contractors based on pricing and compliance.
3. Cost Control During Construction
Track actual costs vs. budget.
Prepare interim payment certificates (progress claims).
Monitor cash flow forecasts.
Evaluate cost implications of site instructions and changes.
4. Final Accounts & Project Closeout
Settle final accounts with contractors/subcontractors.
Assist in dispute resolution (if needed). Prepare final cost reports for clients.
5. Value Engineering & Cost Advice
Provide value engineering suggestions to improve cost efficiency. Advise on alternative materials or construction methods to save costs.
Key Skills Needed
Familiar with construction drawings & methods (HDB, Condo, Landed house)
Proficient in MS Excel, CostX, Bluebeam, etc.
Good negotiation and communication skills
Need 3-5 years QS Experience in Singapore
