Job Description

This role offers exposure to various stages of construction projects, from cost planning and tendering through to progress payments, variations and final accounts. Candidates who are looking to build or further develop their career within a consultancy environment are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare measurement documentation for construction works.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of Bills of Quantities.
  • Monitor project costs and support cost estimation and budgeting activities.
  • Assess variations and assist with the evaluation and pricing of commercial claims.
  • Review monthly progress claims and assist with final account preparation.
  • Support tender exercises, contract administration and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors and suppliers on commercial and cost-related matters.
  • Obtain and compare supplier/subcontractor quotations where required.
  • Maintain organised records of project measurements, claims, quotations and other documentation.
  • Work closely with senior team members and provide support to junior colleagues where applicable.

Key Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a relevant discipline.
  • For Senior QS, preferably 6 years or more of hands-on Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Consultancy experience will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of construction measurement, cost management and contract administration.
  • Experience with BOQ, variations, progress claims and final accounts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with quantity take-off and cost measurement software is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Professional qualifications or membership with relevant industry bodies will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to manage responsibilities independently and work effectively within a project team.
  • Fresh graduates with a relevant Quantity Surveying qualification may be considered for junior positions.
