Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor manages and prepares all the cost estimates for our construction projects. This includes but is not limited to initial calculations to the final accounts to help in bidding and determining the price of the service.

The QS seek to minimise costs while adhering to the required standards and policies. He/She also keeps track of the progression of the contract with regards to any variations.

Good communication and negotiation skills are needed for discussion with stakeholders. He/She is responsible for enhancing the overall value of the project while keeping to the standards and policies.

He/She is office-based and will go on several site visits from the tender stage to completion.

Our office working hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. He/She may be required to address issues on Saturday as it is a working day for the construction team.

Tasks

• Prepare tender and contract documents
• Allocate work to contractors and subcontractors to facilitate the smooth workflow process.
• Assess hazards and risks to ensure workplace safety is maintained
• Communicate with management, contractors, sub-contractors during tender and construction process
• Develop cost reduction strategies for value engineering
• Negotiate with necessary parties to resolve issues
• Monitor project cost and manage claims process with management, clients and sub-contractors
• Oversee and ensure compliance with relevant building standards
