Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will support cost management and contract administration for bored piling and foundation works, from tender stage through project completion, working closely with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing cost estimates and pricing for piling tenders (mobilisation, rig costs, casing, reinforcement, concrete, spoil disposal)
Take off quantities from drawings and specifications (pile schedules, pile caps, borehole/SI reports)
Prepare monthly progress claims and payment certificates based on piles installed and works completed
Track actual quantities against as-built records (pile lengths often vary from design due to site soil conditions)
Assist in preparing variation orders (VOs) arising from unforeseen ground conditions, obstructions, or design changes
Reconcile material usage - concrete pour records, rebar tonnage - against theoretical/estimated quantities
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors on quotations and invoices
Maintain cost records and assist in monthly cost reports (budget vs actual)
Support senior QS/commercial manager in final account preparation
Assist with basic contract administration (correspondence, EOT documentation, claims tracking)
Requirements
Education
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building/Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Experience
Experience in quantity surveying fresh graduates with relevant internship experience welcome
Prior exposure to piling, foundation, or civil/structural works is an advantage but not mandatory
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of construction contracts
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel familiarity with AutoCAD or measurement software is a plus
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Basic knowledge of piling methods is a plus, training will be provided
Soft Skills
Detail-oriented with strong numerical accuracy
Good communication skills for liaising with site teams and subcontractors
Able to work under deadlines (monthly claim cycles)
Willingness to learn and adapt to site-specific conditions (piling projects often involve variations due to ground conditions)
Other Requirements
Willing to travel to project sites within Singapore as needed
