Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying and cost estimation within the construction, specially in electrical and mechanical engineering, or relevant industry sector. You will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring budgets are met, and providing valuable insights for project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimation for M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Assist in developing project costing.
- Assist in preparing and issuing tenders for M&E works,
- Evaluate bids, and make recommendations based on cost, quality, and compliance.
- Analyse M&E designs and specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Assist in contracts related M&E works.
- Conduct site measurements to verify quantities and prepare interim valuations for progress payments.
- Assess and manage variations and change orders, providing cost implications and justifications.
- Identify potential risks associated with M&E works and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that M&E systems are integrated into the overall project plan.
Qualifications
- Degree / Diploma / Specialist Diploma / Advance Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, M&E Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized University or Training Institute.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Proficient in cost estimation will be advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
