We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to oversee and manage all aspects of project costing, contract administration, procurement, and commercial management. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to ensure effective execution and delivery of construction projects within budget, on time, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination & Oversight
Work closely with the project team and Project Manager to coordinate all project activities from contract review to budget tracking and cost control.
Ensure timely review, approval, and negotiation of variations, progress claims, and final accounts. - Contract Management
Review and evaluate contract terms, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
Provide recommendations and negotiate contract terms with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and purchasing teams to reach mutually satisfactory agreements. - Cost Control & Budgeting
Plan project budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations.
Implement commercial controls to track and manage procurement, WIP (Work In Progress), collections, retentions, and reconciliations. - Team Leadership
Lead and support team members to meet project objectives and profitability within the specified time and constraints.
Ensure commercial processes align with company policies and contract objectives. - Stakeholder Management
Serve as the liaison between clients, main contractors, and vendors.
Facilitate cost negotiations, material recommendations, and record-keeping (e.g., Site Instructions, Architect Instructions). - Claims & Variations
Ensure timely follow-up and submission of progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
Monitor and coordinate the release of retention sums as per contract terms. - Risk & Issue Resolution
Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Intervene and resolve issues such as project delays and evaluation concerns. - Strategic Input
Contribute to value engineering strategies to improve project value and profitability.
Provide commercial support for potential new business opportunities.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proficient in project cost software and Microsoft Office Suite.
