Our client is a contractor in the construction industry and they have a few openings for the Quantity Surveyor position
The Quantity Surveyor manages the financial, commercial, and contractual lifecycle of projects from initial tendering through to final execution. This role involves performing accurate quantity take-offs, managing tender documents, and sourcing competitive subcontractor quotes during the pre-tender stage. During project execution, the role shifts to cost control, which includes conducting site verifications for variations, managing subcontractor claims, and tracking material balances to keep the project on budget.
Responsibilities
Tender Sourcing & Costing: Perform quantity take-offs, interpret Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) drawings, and issue detailed enquiries to subcontractors to secure competitive bidding.
Document & Audit Control: Manage all tender drawings, revisions (corrigenda), and project variations, maintaining strict record-keeping for audit and substantiation purposes.
Claims & Progress Certification: Verify and certify completed site work alongside project managers, manage progress payment status, and evaluate subcontractors financial claims.
Financial Oversight: Track order balances and monitor ongoing variation orders to ensure strict project budget control.
