Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our Tender & Contracts team. The successful candidate will support tender preparation, cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and contract administration for civil engineering projects.
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify project scope, requirements, and commercial risks
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, cost plans, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Carry out quantity take-offs for civil works including earthworks, drainage, roadworks, and utilities
- Attend tender briefings, site visits, and walkthroughs for ongoing tenders
- Source, evaluate, and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and issue tender enquiry packages to subcontractors (where applicable)
- Conduct price analysis and commercial evaluations to support tender decisions
- Assist in negotiation of contract terms with subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and compile tender submissions, including pricing breakdowns and clarifications
- Support tender analysis, evaluation, and recommendation reports
- Assist in tender interviews and presentations when required
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and contract compliance
- Liaise with internal stakeholders for both pre-contract and post-contract administration
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant Singapore regulations
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by the immediate superior or Head of Department
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Fresh graduates and entry-level candidates are welcome to apply
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and civil engineering works
- Knowledge of measurement rules and BOQ preparation
- Familiarity with standard forms of contract (PSSCOC / SIA / FIDIC) will be an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PDF tools; familiarity with general office software
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with CostX / Cost TBQ is an advantage
- Strong willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced construction environment
- Good communication skills and positive working attitude
- Able to work independently as well as in a team
