Job Summary
Support the Commercial Department by conducting market research, managing tendering and contract documentation, assisting in negotiations, and preparing commercial reports to ensure effective project cost control and subcontractor management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct construction market resource research and prepare bi-weekly analysis reports to inform project decisions
- Prepare, review, and revise tender, bidding, and contract documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist in contract negotiations, clarifications, and variation works to support project commercial objectives
- Manage tendering processes for project subcontracting to secure competitive bids
- Perform subcontract pricing research and cost analysis, preparing detailed reports for project cost management
- Liaise with subcontractors on commercial matters to maintain clear communication and resolve issues
- Prepare commercial and cost-related reports and statistics to track project financial performance
- Handle progress claims, valuations, and settlements with clients and subcontractors to ensure timely payments
- Support project commercial management activities by coordinating with project teams and stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Company to contribute to overall project success
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in construction commercial management
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering Cost/Commercial Management from a recognised institution
- Must be able to meet site access and security requirements for working on Jurong Island
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in Singapore construction cost budgeting and commercial practices
- Relevant training or certification in contract/commercial management
- Ability to commence work on short notice
