:
The Quantity Surveyor manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction and formwork projects. The role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions preparing bills of quantities and contract documents administering contracts in compliance with project specifications evaluating and certifying subcontractor claims preparing progress claims to clients managing variation orders, cost adjustments, and final accounts monitoring project budgets and cash flow to prevent cost overruns maintaining proper documentation and correspondence related to contractual matters and providing timely commercial support and advice to the project team to ensure smooth execution and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, cost comparisons, and tender submissions for construction and formwork-related projects.
- Take off quantities, measure works, and prepare detailed cost breakdowns.
- Source quotations, liaise and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve competitive pricing.
- Administer contracts in accordance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and manage variation orders (VO), claims, interim payment applications, final accounts, and subcontractor payments.
- Monitor project costs and track budget performance to prevent cost overruns.
- Review contract documents and maintain proper documentation to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Support project execution by providing timely commercial and contractual advice.
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities (BOQ).
- Perform other QS-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- 2-3 years of relevant working experience in quantity surveying, preferably in main-con or construction-related companies.
- Experience in building construction projects (formwork or structural works experience is an advantage).
- Familiar with contract administration, variation orders, cost control processes, and procurement procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel knowledge of cost management or QS software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, proactive, and able to work independently under minimal supervision while meeting tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills, with proficiency in English and the ability to read and write Chinese to liaise with HQ and Chinese-speaking colleagues.
