Quantity Surveyor (Civil & Interior Fit-Out)

We are a growing construction company specializing in civil works, interior decoration, renovation and fit-out projects.

We are looking for a hands-on Quantity Surveyor to support tendering, pricing, and commercial coordination in a small team environment.

This role is suitable for a Junior to Mid-level QS who wants strong exposure to contractor-side tendering and project cost control.

Key Responsibilities

Tender & Pricing

• Attend all tender briefings, site show-rounds, and clarification meetings

• Review tender drawings, specifications, and requirements

• Carry out quantity take-offs and rate build-ups

• Source and manage subcontractor and supplier quotations (minimum 2 quotes where possible)

• Prepare tender cost summaries, comparison sheets, and pricing breakdowns

• Coordinate tender clarifications and addenda

• Compile and ensure complete and on-time tender submission (hardcopy / e-submission)

Commercial & Cost Control

• Assist with variation orders (VO) preparation and supporting documents

• Maintain proper records of quotations, assumptions, exclusions, and approvals

• Support basic subcontractor claim checking and cost tracking

• Coordinate with PM and management to avoid missing scope or cost items

Coordination

• Work closely with Project Managers on site scope and technical clarifications

• Attend site visits when required to ensure accurate pricing

• Follow up actively with subcontractors and suppliers to meet deadlines

Requirements

Must-have

• Degree in Quantity Surveying / Building / Construction Management or related field

• 1-3 years experience in QS / pricing / contractor-side work

• Experience or strong exposure in civil works / interior decoration / renovation / fit-out

• Able to read architectural and civil drawings confidently

• Proficient in Excel and Autocad (mandatory)

• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

• Comfortable working in a small team environment

Good-to-have

• Knowledge of electrical works (advantage, not required)

• Experience with institutional / commercial projects

• Familiar with e-submission platforms and tender portals

Working Arrangement (WFH Policy)

• Hybrid working arrangement

• Work From Home is allowed on selected days, subject to work schedule

• WFH is NOT applicable on days with tender briefings, site visits, or tender submissions

• Candidate must be flexible to attend office and site when required
