Job Description
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support cost control, subcontract administration, and financial reporting for construction projects in Singapore. The role involves close coordination with project teams, regular site visits, and active participation in monthly cost reporting, progress claims, and subcontract management.
The successful candidate will play a hands‑on role in monitoring project costs, managing subcontractor payments and variations, and ensuring accurate and timely financial data is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Control & Reporting
- Conduct regular site visits to review project progress and verify works against contract requirements
- Update monthly project progress and cost data on an ongoing basis
- Enter and maintain project cost information accurately in the JD Edwards cost control system
- Prepare and maintain monthly cost‑to‑date reports and forecast final costs for subcontract packages
- Highlight cost deviations, risks, or concerns to the supervisor for corrective action planning
Progress Claims & Commercial Support
- Provide accurate inputs to support the preparation of monthly progress claims to clients
- Prepare draft progress claim documents as directed by the supervisor
- Assist in the preparation of cost information related to variations and claims
- Conduct site verification to assess the accuracy of subcontractor progress and variation claims
Subcontract Administration
- Assist in preparing draft subcontract agreements and supporting documents for approval
- Conduct regular site visits to track subcontractor progress against contractual scope and programme
- Respond to correspondence from subcontractors in a timely manner, in line with subcontract terms
- Liaise with project teams and seek guidance from the supervisor where required
Project Finance & Other Responsibilities
- Track and record costs related to charitable donations attributable to the project
- Raise invoices for sale of surplus or demolished materials in a timely manner
- Follow up with buyers to ensure timely receipt of payments
- Maintain accurate records for donations, material sales, and related project transactions
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in quantity surveying within LTA construction projects
- Experience in cost control, subcontract administration, and progress claims is essential
- Familiarity with site‑based cost tracking and financial reporting
- Knowledge of project cost systems (e.g. JD Edwards) is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail with good organisational and documentation skills
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
