Job Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimating and Budgeting
Prepare cost estimates, project budgets, and cost plans based on drawings, specifications, and scope of work.

2. Tendering and Procurement
Prepare tender documents, obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, andevaluate submissions

3. Measurement and Costing
Take off quantities from drawings and site information, prepare Bills of Quantities, and price the works accurately.

4. Contract Administration
Review contract terms, monitor contractual obligations, and ensure the projectcomplies with the agreed commercial terms.

5. Progress Claims and Payment Certification
Prepare and submit progress claims, assess subcontractor claims, and verifypayment recommendations.

6. Variation Order Management
Identify, price, negotiate, and track variation works, including preparing supporting documents and cost breakdowns.

7. Cost Control and Reporting
Monitor project cost against budget, track committed cost, forecast finalaccount position, and report cost status to management.

8. Subcontractor and Supplier Management
Handle subcontractor appointments, compare quotations, track procurement cost,and manage commercial correspondence.

9. Final Account Preparation
Prepare, negotiate, and close final accounts with clients, consultants,subcontractors, and suppliers.

10. Documentation and Records
Maintain proper records of quotations, claims, VO, payment certificates,contracts, and supporting cost documents.

11. Site and Project Coordination
Liaise with project managers, site staff, consultants, and clients to verifywork done, clarify scope, and support commercial matters.

12. Risk and Commercial Advice
Highlight potential cost overrun, claim opportunities, contractual risks, andareas affecting project profitability.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying,Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience,preferably in interior design, fitout, or renovation projects.
  • Experience in quantity take off, costing,tendering, subcontractor procurement, progress claims, variation orders, andfinal account.
  • Able to read and interpret constructiondrawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications,especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and coordination skills, withthe ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, andinternal project teams.
  • Able to converse in English and Chinese to support coordination with Chinese speakingclients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and cost controlskills.
  • Responsible, detail oriented, and able to workindependently under tight deadlines.

Added advantage if you have these points:

  • Experience in commercial, Office, School or hospitality fitout projects.
  • Able to prepare and evaluate tender submissions and cost comparisons independently.
  • Experience in handling VO claims, subcontractor claims, and project cost control.
  • Familiar with site measurement and able to verify work done on site.
  • Positive working attitude, proactive, and commercially minded
