Role Summary: Responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality Management System to ensure all products/services meet customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements. Owns product quality from incoming to final dispatch
Key Responsibilities:
A. Quality System & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, or IATF 16949 QMS as applicable
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements: CE, UKCA, ATEX, IECEx, FDA, E-Waste, EPR for instruments
- Lead internal audits, external audits, and customer audits. Close NCs on time
B. Incoming & Process Quality
- Approve suppliers, do vendor audits, and manage supplier quality performance
- Define incoming inspection plan for raw material, components, transmitters, sensors- Monitor production process quality. Drive reduction in rework, scrap, and customer complaints
- Approve NCRs, CAPA, and root cause analysis using 8D, 5Why, FMEA
C. Product & Final Quality
- Define QC inspection plan, sampling plan, and acceptance criteria for finished goods
- Approve calibration of all measuring equipment. Maintain NABL traceability- Review batch records, COC, calibration certificates before dispatch
- Handle customer complaints, RCA, and corrective actions
D. Team & Documentation
- Manage QC inspectors and QA team. Training on QMS and product knowledge
- Control all quality documents: SOPs, WI, forms, calibration records
- Prepare quality MIS: PPM, First Pass Yield, Customer Complaints, Audit score- Manage customer quality portals and vendor rating systems

Education & Experience
- Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Business or Chemical. Diploma + 8 years exp
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience and 2 years in managerial role
- Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
- Knowledge: GD&T, Calibration, NCR/CAPA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA
Skills Required:
- Technical: Reading drawings, understanding pressure/temperature transmitter specs, material certs 316L vs 1.4435
- Tools: MS Office, ERP, QMS software. Knowledge of CMM, pressure calibrators
- Soft Skills: Leadership, audit handling, vendor negotiation, customer handling
- Regulatory: Working knowledge of ISO, ATEX, SIL, RoHS, E-Waste Rules 2023 for instruments
Reporting
- Reports to: Operations Head / Plant Head / Director
- Manages: QC Inspectors, QA Engineers, Document Controller
Extra Points for Instruments/Transmitter Companies
- Experience with WIKA, E+H, Emerson products- Knowledge of Pressure Calibration as per ISO 17025
- Handling customer FAT/SAT for transmitter projects
- Managing material traceability 3.1B certs for 316L/1.4435 wetted parts
