Quality Lab Assistant Manager, Taste & Wellbeing - Your future position
Reporting to: Head of Quality, Singapore

Main Responsibilities
People Leadership & Development
- Develop the Quality Lab team to achieve technical skills.
- Deliver structured training and ensure compliance with established procedures and quality systems.
- Identify and nurture talent to support succession planning and future growth.
Laboratory Operations & Compliance Management
- Manage daily QC lab activities, including testing, sensory evaluation, and product release.
- Ensure materials are released on time and meet all quality and regulatory standards.
- Make final decisions on approving or rejecting raw materials and finished goods; escalate when needed.
- Escalate issues to top management and communicate rejections and information updates to important contacts in Quality, Operations, Purchasing and Customer Care.
- Ensure the team follows SOPs, GMP, HACCP, and customer requirements.
- Ensure the laboratory is maintained in a clean, safe, and audit-ready state, in full compliance with GMP, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Quality Control and Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints (e.g., Z1, Z2, Z3), and quality incidents.
- Conduct root cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Analyze main lab performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate across departments to support quality projects and continuous improvement projects.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with teams such as Flavor Creation, Operations, Planning and Customer Care to address quality concerns and support product development from a QC perspective.
- Provide technical expertise and necessary documentation to support audits, customer visits, and quality reviews.
- Main point of contact for all partners on issues concerning product quality and laboratory operations.
Planning & Project Support
- Plan and allocate laboratory resources to meet testing demands and support production schedules effectively.
- Lead or support lab-related projects such as method validations, equipment qualifications, and digitalization projects.
- Manage laboratory supplies and control operational expenses to stay within budget.
Main Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or equivalent
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the flavor or food ingredients industry.
- At least 2 years of proven leadership experience in a laboratory setting
- Technical knowledge in analytical methods, sensory evaluation, and raw material/product specifications.
- Proficient in laboratory instrumentation such as gas chromatography (GC), Karl Fischer titration, refractometry, moisture analysis etc.
- Experience with GMP, HACCP and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems, and quality data analysis tools.
