Responsibilities:
Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 quality management system, ensuring effectiveness across machining and sheet metal fabrication processes
Plan and conduct internal quality audits, focusing on process compliance and effectiveness on the shop floor
Lead, coach, and develop QA/QC inspectors to support in-process and final inspection activities
Develop and implement inspection strategies and control plans aligned with tight tolerance machining and sheet metal fabrication requirements
Interpret complex engineering drawings and ensure proper deployment of GD&T requirements into manufacturing and inspection processes
Review and approve First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for new products and engineering changes
Lead internal non-conformance management, including MRB activities, disposition (rework/repair/scrap), and validation of corrective actions
Drive structured problem-solving (8D, 5 Whys) for internal quality issues, ensuring robust root cause identification and sustainable corrective actions
Analyze quality data (scrap, rework, Cp/Cpk, yield trends) to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure manufacturability, inspection readiness, and quality risk mitigation
Perform hands-on dimensional inspection for critical and complex features when required
Drive shop-floor quality improvements, including mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) and standardization of best practices
Take on additional responsibilities aligned with business and operational needs
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline
Minimum 3 years of experience in a precision machining and/or sheet metal fabrication environment
Proven hands-on experience with GD&T application and CMM inspection (FARO Arm / Fixed CMM)
Experience handling tight tolerance components and complex geometries
Practical experience in SPC, FMEA, and structured problem solving (8D)
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems within precision machining and sheet metal environments
Advanced GD&T proficiency (ASME Y14.5), with the ability to interpret complex drawings and support tolerance-related decisions
Hands-on experience with CMM systems, including FARO Arm and fixed CMM, with capability in measurement execution, basic programming, and results interpretation
Strong understanding of CNC machining (turning, milling) and sheet metal processes (laser cutting, bending, welding, finishing) and their impact on dimensional and cosmetic quality
Proficiency in inspection techniques for tight tolerances, complex geometries, and formed components
Solid knowledge of SPC, Cp/Cpk, FMEA, and control plans, with practical application on the shop floor
Strong problem-solving capability, using structured methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams
Team-oriented, hands-on approach, comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
High attention to detail with a practical, solution-focused mindset
