1. Quality Control and Inspection
- Monitor products and processes to ensure they meet specifications.
- Inspect and test raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
- Identify defects or nonconformities and report root causes.
2. Process Improvement
- Analyse production data to identify root causes of quality issues.
- Utilise quality tools such as Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Whys, and cause-effect diagrams.
- Propose and implement corrective measures to reduce defects and waste.
3. Documentation and Standards / ISO Management
- Prepare and update quality documents (SOPs, work instructions, inspection plans).
- Take the lead on ISO implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF, UL, and ASTA standards.
- Maintain audit records and assist in obtaining and renewing certifications.
4. Supplier Quality Management
- Conduct supplier audits based on performance and approval criteria.
- Handle supplier quality issues and manage SCAR/CAPA processes.
5. Customer Quality
- Liaise with customers on quality requirements, quality reports, and audit support.
- Address customer quality concerns and ensure timely communication and resolution.
6. Problem Solving and Corrective Action
- Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues.
- Lead structured root cause analysis and implement CAPA actions.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures.
7. Collaboration and Training
- Work closely with production, R&D, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Train employees on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
8. Audit and Compliance
- Support internal and external audits for regulatory and customer compliance.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Analyse defects and prepare quality reports.
- Manage calibration of measuring equipment.
- Handle customer complaints and conduct internal audits.
9. MOM Compliance & Risk Management
- Lead and maintain Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) risk assessments and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) required by MOM.
- Ensure workplace safety documentation, hazard identification, and risk controls comply with MOM regulations.
- Support incident investigations and ensure proper reporting as required by MOM.
- Coordinate with WSH personnel and management to ensure risk controls are implemented and maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma in Quality Management, Material Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (advanced degrees or certifications are an advantage).
- Minimum 2 years experience in quality control, with focus on ISO certifications.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Standards and ability to implement and maintain ISO requirements.
- Knowledge of Component FAI / PPAP / PSW is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Mandarin and English for liaison with China counterparts.
- Proven experience in managing quality operations and driving continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in quality methodologies, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with quality management software and tools.
