Our client is a leading provider of high-quality plastics and synthetic rubber serving multiple industries, including automotive, electronics, and more. They are seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician (shift-based) to support their Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SSBR) operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical testing to support SSBR operations, ensuring product quality through verification, audits, investigations, and troubleshooting.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments, including GC, HPLC, GPC, FTIR, Karl Fischer Titrators, and Viscometers, and provide training where required.
- Review, update, and maintain Quality and Safety documentation such as Work Instructions, Risk Assessments, and relevant forms to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform general laboratory operations, including inventory management, chemical preparation, safety and facility checks, 5S implementation, and housekeeping.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Safety, Quality, Digitalization, and Operational Efficiency.
Requirements & Preferences
(Must)
- NITEC/Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Inexperienced candidates with a relevant academic background are welcome to apply training will be provided.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Quality Control Laboratory Technician
- Basic understanding of laboratory practices, analytical techniques, and chemical safety procedures.
- Able to work on a 12-hour shift from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm and vice versa
(Advantageous)
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments (e.g., GC, HPLC, GPC, FTIR, KF Titrators, Viscometers) is an advantage
- Experience handling Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SSBR) operations
- Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and willingness to participate in quality and safety initiatives.
