Job Description

Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to oversee and maintain quality standards in our plumbing projects and services. The QA Engineer will ensure that all plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance work meet industry regulations, safety codes, and company standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, site supervisors, and technicians to monitor quality, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to achieve customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes for plumbing projects and services.
  • Inspect plumbing installations (residential, commercial, industrial) to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and material requirements to confirm accuracy and suitability.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify defects, non-conformance, or risks.
  • Document quality issues, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Monitor the performance of plumbing teams and subcontractors against quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure proper testing of water pressure, leak detection, pipe fittings, and drainage systems.
  • Verify that all plumbing materials and equipment meet required quality certifications.
  • Provide training and guidance to plumbing staff on quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare QA reports, quality checklists, and compliance documentation for management and clients.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in plumbing quality control, construction QA/QC, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, fittings, and relevant codes/standards (e.g., local building codes, safety regulations).
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and testing methods (e.g., pressure testing, flow testing, leak detection).
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams (project managers, engineers, site supervisors).
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards in construction.
  • Certification in plumbing or building inspection.
  • Knowledge of project management practices.
