The QA/QC Officer ensures that food products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining compliance with ISO-based Food Safety Management Systems. The role also supports inventory control processes to ensure proper storage, traceability, stock rotation, and quality preservation of raw products and finished goods.
Job Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance (QA)
. Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems.
. Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and local food regulations.
. Conduct internal audits and supplier audits.
. Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
. Manage documentation and record-keeping systems.
. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Quality Control (QC)
. Inspect raw products, packaging materials, and finished products.
. Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) during production.
. Conduct physical quality tests.
. Approve or reject product based on specifications.
. Monitor hygiene and sanitation practices in production and warehouse areas.
. Handle non-conforming products and ensure proper segregation.
Inventory Management & Stock Control
. Monitor quality of stored raw products and finished goods.
. Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO / FEFO principles.
. Conduct routine warehouse inspections (temperature, humidity, cleanliness).
. Verify batch coding, labelling, and traceability records.
. Coordinate with warehouse team for damaged, expired, or non-conforming stock.
. Participate in periodic stock counts and reconciliations.
. Investigate inventory discrepancies related to quality issues.
. Ensure segregation and proper documentation of quarantined materials.
. Maintain storage compliance with food safety standards.
Regulatory & Compliance
. Ensure timely updates and reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality manuals.
. Coordinate certification and surveillance audits.
. Act as focal contact during external audits.
. Prepare documentation and evidence for auditors.
. Ensure timely closure of audit findings.
. Act as point-of-contact during audit processes and follow up on corrective actions.
Job Requirements:
. Diploma in Logistics, Business Administration, Food Science or related field.
. 2-5 years in food manufacturing.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and extract meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
. Excellent communication skills, collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across various teams and functions.
