Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and registered Geotechnical Qualified Person (QP) to lead and oversee geotechnical design, design verification, and regulatory submissions for major infrastructure and building projects. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local authority requirements and delivering safe, efficient, and buildable geotechnical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Geotechnical Qualified Person (QP) in accordance with regulatory requirements, including submissions to relevant authorities (e.g. BCA, PUB, LTA where applicable)
  • Lead the design and review of geotechnical works, including foundations, deep excavations, retaining structures, and ground improvement
  • Oversee site investigations, interpretation of soil data, and geotechnical analysis
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and endorse design calculations, drawings, and technical reports
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, including mentoring junior engineers
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and authorities on technical matters, submissions, and approvals
  • Support and, where required, act as Independent Checking Engineer (ICE) for geotechnical works
  • Identify and manage geotechnical risks, including construction challenges in complex ground conditions
  • Contribute to tender proposals, value engineering, and project planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Singapore with Geotechnical specialization (QP status required)
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design and project delivery
  • Strong expertise in deep excavation, foundation design, and underground structures
  • Good understanding of local authority submission processes and codes of practice
  • Proven experience managing projects and interfacing with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
