Job Description
This role focuses on Day 2 operations for Qlik Sense and Qlik NPrinting platforms in a consulting environment. You will be responsible for ensuring both platforms remain stable, secure, compliant, and well-run after go-live, supporting multiple client systems and projects, often in regulated, air-gapped on-premises environments.

Technical Environment
The platform environment comprises the following:

  • BI & Analytics: Qlik Sense Enterprise (Qlik Management Console, Engine, Proxy, Scheduler, Repository services).
  • Report Distribution: Qlik NPrinting (NPrinting Server, NPrinting Engine, Web Console, report scheduling and distribution).
  • Infrastructure: Windows Server (on-premises deployment).
  • Databases: PostgreSQL (Qlik Sense repository database), connected source databases as applicable.
  • Authentication: Directory service integration (Active Directory / LDAP), security rules, virtual proxies.
  • Monitoring: Splunk (log forwarding, platform monitoring, alerting).

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Operations & Day 2 Support

  • Provide Day 2 operational support for Qlik Sense Enterprise and Qlik NPrinting, including all core services (Engine, Proxy, Scheduler, Repository, NPrinting Server, NPrinting Engine).
  • Monitor platform health, availability, and performance across Qlik Sense nodes, NPrinting services, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Perform routine operational checks including service status verification, task execution monitoring, reload schedules, and NPrinting report distribution health.
  • Support platform upgrades, patches, and hotfixes for both Qlik Sense and NPrinting in accordance with change management processes.

2. User & Project Onboarding / Offboarding
Qlik Sense Onboarding:

  • Create and configure user access via security rules, streams, and section access controls.
  • Set up project streams, shared spaces, and managed spaces with appropriate ownership and access permissions.
  • Configure data connections and assign connection-level permissions for project use.
  • Configure Splunk and ensure that project is receiving its platform logs to the designated email provided.
  • Configure and ensure that project is receiving its account access control list to the designated email provided.
  • Guide users and projects on usage and compliance requirements (e.g. account review, notification when changing roles, content publishing policies).

Qlik NPrinting Onboarding:

  • Create NPrinting user accounts, assign roles, and configure report recipient groups.
  • Set up NPrinting connections to Qlik Sense apps and configure report templates and distribution lists as required.
  • Configure report scheduling, delivery destinations (email, folder, hub), and notification settings.

Offboarding:

  • Remove user access from Qlik Sense security rules, streams, and spaces.
  • Remove NPrinting user accounts, report subscriptions, and recipient group memberships.
  • Remove project from Splunk and account access control list if required.
  • Decommission project streams, data connections, and NPrinting configurations if required.
  • Maintain accurate access and entitlement records for all platform users across Qlik Sense and NPrinting.

3. Service Requests (SR) & Change Requests (CR)

  • Handle Service Requests (SRs) such as access requests, security rule changes, stream/space configuration, NPrinting report setup, data connection requests, and operational queries.
  • Support Change Requests (CRs) including platform configuration changes, virtual proxy adjustments, reload schedule tuning, NPrinting engine scaling, patching, and controlled enhancements.
  • Participate in impact assessments, implementation planning, and post-change validation for Qlik Sense and NPrinting platform changes.
  • Ensure changes follow agreed ITSM, governance, and approval workflows.

4. Platform Maintenance & Housekeeping

  • Perform regular platform housekeeping activities (Qlik Sense log management, repository database maintenance, NPrinting log cleanup, storage management, license allocation reviews, certificate renewals where applicable).
  • Monitor and manage Qlik Sense reload tasks and NPrinting report schedules, investigating and resolving task failures, timeouts, and dependency issues.
  • Support backup and restore procedures for Qlik Sense repository databases, app content, NPrinting configurations, and report templates, and assist with DR readiness activities.
  • Maintain platform configuration documentation and operational runbooks for both Qlik Sense and NPrinting environments.
  • Assist in audits, compliance checks, and evidence collection when required, including license usage reporting, access control list reviews, and Splunk log analysis.

5. Security, Compliance & Regulated Environments

  • Operate within air-gapped, on-premises environments with strict security and operational controls.
  • Adhere to client security standards, SOPs, and access controls across Qlik Sense (security rules, section access, virtual proxies) and NPrinting (user roles, report permissions).
  • Ensure account access control lists are maintained, reviewed, and distributed in compliance with governance requirements.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, security, directory services, and governance teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure operational activities comply with client and regulatory requirements, including data access and distribution controls.

6. Consulting & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work as part of a multi-project consulting delivery team, supporting multiple Qlik platforms and clients.
  • Communicate clearly with project managers, BI architects, report developers, and client operations teams.
  • Escalate risks, incidents, and operational concerns in a timely and structured manner.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and standards.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in platform administration, production support, or operations for Qlik Sense and/or Qlik NPrinting (or similar BI and reporting platforms).
  • Hands-on experience with the following (or similar):

Qlik Sense: Qlik Management Console (QMC), security rules, streams, spaces, data connections, reload tasks

Qlik NPrinting: NPrinting Web Console, report scheduling, distribution configuration, engine management

Authentication: Active Directory / LDAP integration, virtual proxies, section access

Databases: PostgreSQL (Qlik repository DB), connected source databases (basic connectivity troubleshooting)

Monitoring & Logging: Splunk (log forwarding configuration, platform monitoring, alerting).

Infrastructure: Windows Server environments, certificate management, service administration.

Experience working in on-premises and/or air-gapped environments is required.

Technical & Operational Skills

  • Strong understanding of Qlik Sense administration via QMC, including security rules, streams, spaces, data connections, and reload task management.
  • Experience with Qlik NPrinting administration, including report scheduling, distribution setup, engine management, and user/role configuration.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory / LDAP integration for Qlik Sense user provisioning and authentication.
  • Experience with Splunk configuration for log forwarding, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes (incident, service request, change management).
  • Experience with patching, upgrades, and controlled changes in production Qlik environments.
  • Ability to follow runbooks, SOPs, and operational checklists.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills across Qlik Sense services, NPrinting engines, database connectivity, and report distribution failures.
  • Experience with Informatica PowerCenter administration (domain management, repository operations, user/folder permissions, EBF patching) will be a plus.

  • Familiarity with Qlik Sense multi-node architecture, load balancing, and high-availability configurations.
  • Experience with QlikView administration (in addition to Qlik Sense).
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for Windows Server and Qlik platform automation.
  • Experience with Qlik license management (token-based, capacity-based, or user-based models).
