Job Summary
The QC Trainer is responsible for training, coaching, and certifying QC inspectors, operators, and new hires to ensure they are competent in performing quality inspection, identifying defect mode, handling and packing of wafers according to procedures, customer requirements and quality standards. He/she will also support training documentation, certification tracking, audit preparation, and continuous improvement activities to strengthen QC operators competency and reduce quality-related errors. The candidate should be hands-on, detail-oriented, good in coaching and able to communicate effectively in both Chinese and English.
Responsibilities - Incumbent is required to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Conduct OJT, refresher training, and certification programs for QC operators, and new hires.
- Train employees on SOP, WI, inspection criteria, defect classification, cleanroom practices, ESD control, 5S, and quality requirements.
- Perform competency assessment and practical skill verification to ensure trainees are qualified before independent work assignment.
- Prepare, update, and maintain training materials, training checklists, skill assessment forms, and certification records.
- Track training status, certification validity, and re-certification requirements for QC operators and production operators.
- Work closely with Quality Engineer and QC Supervisors to identify training gaps and improve training effectiveness.
- Monitor trainee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance when quality or procedural mistakes are observed.
- Support NPI when there are changes to existing SOP, WI, customer requirements, or internal quality standards.
- Support audits by ensuring training records and certification documents are properly maintained.
- Reinforce compliance with cleanroom rules, ESD requirements, safety procedures, and company quality policies.
- Support investigation of quality issues by checking training history, operator competency, and possible training-related gaps.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions related to training, human error, or process compliance.
- Communicate training updates, quality alerts, and procedural changes clearly to relevant employees.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- NITEC/ Diploma in Engineering, Quality or related field.
- Prior experience as a QC Trainer, Senior QC Inspector, Line Leader, or Manufacturing Trainer is preferred.
- Experience in wafer sort / CP, wafer probing, or IC testing environment.
- Familiar with SOP, WI, inspection criteria, defect classification, ESD, 5S, and cleanroom practices.
- Able to conduct OJT, refresher training, operator certification, and competency assessment.
- Able to prepare training materials, maintain training records, and track certification status.
- Good communication, coaching, and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of 8D, OCAP, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949 will be added advantage.
- Able to work in a cleanroom environment and support shift/overtime when required.
- Proficient in Chinese and English (written & spoken)
