Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materialsJoin Thermo Fisher Scientific's Quality Control team and help ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of products that support the development and manufacture of life-changing medicines.
As a QC Chemist I, you will perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products within a cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) environment. Your work will generate the quality data needed to support product release, stability programs, investigations, and new product introductions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys laboratory testing, problem-solving, and working in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment where accuracy, compliance, and data integrity are critical.
What You'll Do
Quality Control Testing
Perform testing of raw materials, incoming goods, intermediates, and finished products in accordance with approved methods and cGMP requirements.
Execute testing to support product release and stability studies.
Accurately document test results and ensure data integrity requirements are met.
Laboratory Operations
Support calibration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Maintain laboratory readiness and compliance with quality, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
Manage laboratory chemicals, reagents, and consumable inventory.
Compliance & Investigations
Support laboratory investigations, deviations, and quality events to ensure timely closure.
Participate in periodic review of laboratory documentation.
Ensure all activities comply with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and cGMP regulations.
New Product Introduction & Continuous Improvement
Support method transfer, verification, and validation activities for new products.
Participate in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to building and sustaining a strong quality culture within the laboratory.
Collaboration
Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Services, and other cross-functional teams to support site objectives.
Communicate effectively with local and global stakeholders to resolve issues and drive improvements.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
2 to 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or regulated laboratory environment.
Understanding of cGMP requirements and laboratory documentation practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and timelines.
Preferred Experience
Experience with pharmaceutical Quality Control testing.
Experience supporting investigations, deviations, or laboratory quality systems.
Experience with method transfer, method verification, or method validation activities.
Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and regulated documentation practices.
