The QAQC Manager oversees quality management throughout all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. This includes ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing inspections, audits, and documentation, and working with stakeholders to maintain high-quality project outcomes.
Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI
- ASNT Level 2 for RT, UT, MT, PT
- Engineering degree (recognized university)
- 10+ years in a QAQC managerial role
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards and quality control plans
- Expertise in conducting quality audits and leading meetings
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance PlanningDevelop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Quality Control Plans (QCP). Ensure clarity of quality requirements and establish document control systems.
- Stakeholder Communication & CoordinationServe as the primary contact for quality-related matters across all parties involved. Represent QAQC in project meetings, integrating quality across project aspects.
- Compliance & Documentation ControlEnsure project compliance with international standards (ASME, API, ISO) and local regulations. Maintain and archive all quality-related documents.
- Design & Engineering ReviewCollaborate with design teams to ensure adherence to quality standards. Participate in design reviews to resolve potential quality issues.
- Procurement & Vendor EvaluationEvaluate and audit vendors and suppliers to meet quality requirements. Review material submittals and ensure quality clauses in procurement documents.
- Manufacturing/Fabrication QualityManage vendor qualification and material approval processes. Ensure proper inspection and testing of fabricated materials and equipment.
- Material Handling & PreservationOversee inspection, storage, preservation, and transportation of materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Construction Phase OversightSupervise construction activities, inspections, and testing to meet project specifications. Ensure non-conformities are addressed during construction and site acceptance tests.
- Monitoring & ReportingDevelop KPIs, track quality performance, and report to senior management. Audit processes and report corrective actions for quality improvements.
- Training & Team Development
- Provide quality training to project personnel and promote adherence to best practices.
- Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Identify and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee commissioning to ensure the pipeline meets required quality standards.
- Complete and hand over all quality documentation to the client.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
