Role Overview
Drive the automation of quality across our wealth management delivery teams in Singapore. As a QA with Automation you will design, build and own the automated test suites that run on every build - spanning UI, API and regression layers - and embed them into CI/CD pipelines so that defects surface within minutes rather than at the end of a test cycle. The role combines hands-on framework engineering with the analytical rigour of functional testing in a secure, regulated banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain automated test suites across UI, API and regression layers for business-critical applications
- Own a maintainable automation framework, applying sound engineering practice: version control, code review, and reusable page objects and fixtures
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines so that every build is gated by an automated quality check
- Automate service-layer validation of REST APIs, covering request and response contracts, error paths, and data integrity
- Identify the highest-value candidates for automation and maintain a pragmatic balance between automated and exploratory manual testing
- Investigate failures through structured root cause analysis, distinguishing genuine defects from environment, data or test fragility
- Keep the suite fast and trustworthy by actively eliminating flaky tests and managing test data
- Report coverage, pass rates and defect trends to stakeholders, making quality visible across the delivery lifecycle
Professional Requirements
- Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer within Agile/Scrum delivery teams
- Strong hands-on expertise with a modern automation framework such as Playwright, Selenium or Cypress
- Sound programming ability in at least one of Java, Python, TypeScript or JavaScript, sufficient to build and refactor framework code
- Hands-on experience automating REST API tests using tools such as Postman, REST Assured or equivalent libraries
- Practical experience integrating automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps), with Git as the version control system
- Good SQL skills for test data preparation and back-end validation of results
- Working knowledge of Jira Xray or comparable test management tooling is an advantage
- Domain knowledge in banking, wealth management or financial services is a strong advantage
- ISTQB certification and exposure to performance testing (JMeter, k6) are desirable
Personal Skills
- Engineering mindset applied to testing, with a genuine interest in building maintainable tooling rather than one-off scripts
- Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership over the quality of what the team ships
- Accurate, methodical and detail-oriented, without losing sight of delivery priorities
- Able to explain quality risks clearly to developers, product owners and business stakeholders
- Collaborative team player with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach
