Job Description
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced QA/QC Inspector to join our marine/shipyard operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring welding and fabrication works meet project specifications, classification society requirements, and international quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out visual inspection of welding and fabrication works in accordance with approved drawings, WPS, and project specifications
- Verify weld quality, dimensions, and fit-up prior to and during fabrication
- Review and endorse NDT reports (UT, RT, MT, PT) and coordinate with NDT technicians
- Liaise with classification societies (ABS, DNV, LR, BV, etc.) and clients during inspection and survey
- Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Monitor material traceability and certification (Mill Test Certificates, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and project-specific quality plans
- Highlight and follow up on non-conformances until closure
- Support internal and external audits as required
Requirements
- Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification is mandatory (CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-CWI an advantage)
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant QA/QC inspection experience in shipyard, marine, or offshore fabrication industry
- Able to read and interpret technical/fabrication drawings, P&ID, and welding symbols
- Familiar with classification society requirements and ISO 9001 QMS
- Computer literate (MS Office, inspection/reporting systems)
- Willing to work 5.5 days a week, including OT when required
- Class 3 driving license favorable but not required
