Full Stack Engineer (AI & Data Platforms)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Python Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and enhance AI-enabled web applications that support data-intensive business solutions. The role involves building scalable frontend and backend components, implementing DevOps practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and high-performing digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using ReactJS with TypeScript for the frontend and Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI for the backend.
- Develop and enhance application modules supporting AI-powered and data-driven workflows.
- Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Implement automated testing frameworks to improve application quality, reliability, and deployment efficiency.
- Work closely with developers and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver technical solutions and provide design recommendations.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to system architecture discussions, and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in full-stack web application development.
- Experience working in collaborative software development teams with version control and CI/CD practices using tools such as Git.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, including ReactJS or AngularJS.
- Hands-on experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask, with Django being preferred.
- Good understanding of DevOps practices, including automated testing, deployment pipelines, and containerised applications using GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Solid knowledge of software architecture, system design, and building scalable, resilient distributed systems.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions that balance performance, maintainability, scalability, and business requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing custom digital applications involving AI, machine learning, or data analytics in collaboration with data scientists and data engineers.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring solutions such as OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of Government ICT & Smart Systems (IM8) policies and experience working within government technology environments.
