Overview
Red Gum Pte Ltd is seeking a proactive and detailoriented Purchasing Executive to strengthen our procurement operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating order, building simple and effective systems, and ensuring continuity even when the team is away. You will play a key role in maintaining supplier relationships, optimizing purchasing processes, and ensuring our procurement activities support the company's operational and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop Simple, Scalable Procurement Systems
- Design and implement purchasing procedures that are clear, logical, and easy for untrained staff to follow.
- Create documentation, checklists, and workflows to ensure seamless continuity during leave or handovers.
- Continuously refine processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
2. Supplier Management & Information Maintenance
- Maintain an uptodate and accurate supplier database, including contacts, pricing, lead times, and product details.
- Build and nurture strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
- Conduct periodic supplier reviews to assess performance, quality, and competitiveness.
3. Purchasing Operations
- Source and evaluate suppliers to secure improved pricing, quality, and payment terms.
- Negotiate and establish Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
- Request and compare quotations, ensuring alignment with company standards and budget requirements.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely followup on deliveries, discrepancies, and documentation.
4. Cost, Quality & Risk Optimization
- Monitor market trends, pricing changes, and alternative suppliers to ensure costeffectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate purchases or negotiate better terms.
- Work closely with internal teams to understand material requirements and forecast demand.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Generate periodic reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier metrics.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
- Strong organizational skills with a talent for creating simple, userfriendly systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Detailoriented, resourceful, and able to work independently.
