Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Planning
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support production, project timelines, and business objectives.
- Forecast purchasing needs based on sales, project pipelines, and inventory levels.
Supplier Management
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, pricing, delivery performance, and compliance.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and credit terms to achieve favourable outcomes.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, responsiveness) and drive continuous improvement.
Purchasing Operations
- Guide a team of buyers to execute the purchasing function.
- Manage, guide and mentor the purchasing team.
- Oversee RFQ, PO issuance, order tracking, delivery scheduling, and shipment coordination.
- Ensure materials and components are delivered on time to support operational and project requirements.
- Resolve supply delays, quality issues, and discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Assist in the collection and reporting of market analysis, commodity trends, cost trends.
Inventory, Cost & Compliance
- Work closely with warehouse and planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels while reducing excess and obsolescence.
- Manage procurement budgets, cost analysis, and monthly reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) sourcing for new components and materials.
- Support special projects as needed and required.
- Participate in audits, supplier evaluations, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing, commodities, engineering, or logistics sectors.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP) and Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lead a team.
- Flexibility as sometimes require early morning or evening phone calls with global team member.
