Job Description

Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Planning

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support production, project timelines, and business objectives.
  • Forecast purchasing needs based on sales, project pipelines, and inventory levels.

Supplier Management

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, pricing, delivery performance, and compliance.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and credit terms to achieve favourable outcomes.
  • Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, responsiveness) and drive continuous improvement.

Purchasing Operations

  • Guide a team of buyers to execute the purchasing function.
  • Manage, guide and mentor the purchasing team.
  • Oversee RFQ, PO issuance, order tracking, delivery scheduling, and shipment coordination.
  • Ensure materials and components are delivered on time to support operational and project requirements.
  • Resolve supply delays, quality issues, and discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Assist in the collection and reporting of market analysis, commodity trends, cost trends.

Inventory, Cost & Compliance

  • Work closely with warehouse and planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels while reducing excess and obsolescence.
  • Manage procurement budgets, cost analysis, and monthly reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) sourcing for new components and materials.
  • Support special projects as needed and required.
  • Participate in audits, supplier evaluations, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing, commodities, engineering, or logistics sectors.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP) and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lead a team.
  • Flexibility as sometimes require early morning or evening phone calls with global team member.
