Job Description

Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's procurement activities to ensure cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery of quality materials and services and efficient supplier management. The role requires strong leadership, negotiation, analytical and organizational skills to support operational requirements and achieve company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full spectrum of procurement activities, including sourcing, quotation enquiries, price negotiations, supplier selection, purchase order processing and delivery coordination.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality, pricing competitiveness and timely delivery.
  • Participate in procurement tender work, ensuring that all procurement obligations are fulfilled
  • Source and obtain quotations, handle tender, and ensure tender submissions are complete and compliant through open ITT and ITQ.
  • Review and approve Purchase Orders (PO), Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), and procurement documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with operations to ensure sufficient material supply and minimize shortages.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle operational enquiries, quotations, and procurement-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Support vendor onboarding and update vendor information such as vendor contact databases in system.
  • Supervise and guide purchasing staff to ensure smooth daily operations and team performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role or within Government Ministries or Statutory Boards.
  • Experience in procurement or ERP systems such as Tender Board, Maximo, MS Dynamics 365will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Purchase Order terms and conditions.
  • Ability to work in a small team and have good interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self‐motivated, results focused and willing to work under tight schedules with multi‐disciplinary teams.
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island

Work Location and Hours

. Penjuru Road / Jurong Island

. Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm Friday 8am - 5pm

Remuneration

. Salary will commensurate with experience
