Purchasing Executive (Food Manufacturing) - North - WCDT

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders and ad hoc local purchases, ensuring accuracy, timely processing, and compliance with company policies.

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, favourable payment terms, and reliable delivery schedules while maintaining good supplier relationships.

• Work closely with the Sales team to review forecasts, plan purchases according to projected demand, and follow up on incoming goods.

• Coordinate with the Warehouse team to ensure timely receipt of goods and verify product quantity, quality, and proper storage, especially for perishable items.

• Collaborate with Warehouse, Inventory, and Logistics teams to monitor stock turnover, optimise inventory levels, and minimise overstocking and stockouts.

• Monitor stock levels and discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions to prevent shortages, delays, and excess inventory.

• Liaise with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth order processing and timely resolution of operational issues.

• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier contracts, and related documentation in accordance with company and audit requirements.

• Prepare regular purchasing reports, including spending summaries, outstanding POs, and supplier status updates, for the Purchasing Manager and Finance team.

• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Diploma or higher qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.

• Experience in purchasing and handling food products, particularly perishable goods, is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

• Knowledge of SAP HANA or other ERP systems will be an advantage.

• Customs Declarant certification will be an added advantage.
