Purchasing Assistant (Construction Industry)

Responsibilities:

• Source and procure materials, plant/equipment, tools, and other required items.
• Issue enquiries to vendors, obtain quotations, and prepare cost comparisons with recommendations.
• Prepare and submit Purchase Orders (POs) for management approval and ensure POs are issued to approved vendors.
• Liaise with vendors to monitor delivery schedules and compile Delivery Orders (DOs).
• Verify invoices and process vendor payments.
• Maintain and update records of material usage and consumption.
• Possess knowledge of shipping and freight forwarding procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned within the procurement function.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Purchasing or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Familiarity with construction or building materials/products.
