The Hiring Company is a main contractor looking for a Purchaser with experience in construction projects.
Job Description
- Responsible for the preparation and process of purchase orders and documents.
- Liaising with Vendors to ensure on-time delivery of purchased materials.
- Request for quotation and system price-updating.
- Handle full spectrum of procurement activities.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure best deals and to achieve competitive pricing.
- Communicate and maintain good relationship with suppliers.
- Preparation of bidders lists in conjunction with project mangers and clients.
- Processing valid requisitions.
- Soliciting and evaluating bids.
- Recommending and obtaining approvals for purchase.
- Issuing purchase orders,subcontracts and changes orders.
- Expediting vendor information,equipment,deliveries and services.
- Implementing and maintaining an effective material management system.
- Maintaining purchasing records.
- Ensuring that all procurement activities are performed in accordance with applicable project procedures.
- Ensures that contractual obligations are fulfilled ,as required.
- Ensures that all procurement activities are carried out in the most cost effective manner.
- Selection of subcontractors /vendors based on their quotations. In addition, to assist the procurement manager in evaluation of subcontractors/vendors quality system
Requirements
- Degree in procurement or engineering discipline.
- At least 5 to 10 years of procurement experience/negotiating and order management experience.
- Experience in working for civil /building construction projects.
- Experience of sourcing in local and overseas vendor management.
- Good understanding of quotation and contract's terms and conditions. Negotiation Skill is necessary.
- ERP, SAP, Supplier Relationship Management and Material Management will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of shipments.
- Able to work independently and as a group in a fast pace environment.
