Purchaser

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable material suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Review project blueprints and material take-offs to determine purchasing needs.
• Request, analyze, and compare competitive quotes and technical specifications.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply contracts to maximize cost savings.

• Prepare, issue, and manage official Purchase Orders (POs) using procurement software.

• Coordinate delivery schedules with vendors and Project Managers to ensure on-time arrival.
• Track shipments, resolve logistical delays, and manage material returns or damages.
• Monitor inventory levels across active sites to prevent material shortages.

• Verify vendor invoices against delivery orders and POs before passing to accounts payable.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of purchasing contracts, pricing history, and vendor performance.
• Ensure all procured materials comply with industry regulations and project safety standards.
• Monitor procurement expenses to ensure alignment with approved project budgets.
• Any ad-hoc admin duty assign by management.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience as a Purchaser or Procurement Officer specifically within the construction industry.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with construction materials, equipment rentals, and sub-contracting processes.
• Negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a track record of driving cost savings.
• Technical Savvy: Proficiency in ERP or procurement software (e.g., SAP, Quickbooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Soft Skills: Sharp analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
