Purchaser - Structural Steel & Engineering Projects

Lai Yew Seng Pte Ltd (LYS) is a specialist contractor delivering structural steel works, hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) systems, crash-rated bollards and gates for government, healthcare, transport, and infrastructure projects across Singapore.

We are looking for a purchaser who can support project teams by ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.

What You'll Be Doing (Day-to-Day)

.Manage procurement and related administrative tasks to support company operations and projects

.Source and procure materials, equipment, and services for structural steel and engineering works

.Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and vendors on pricing, delivery schedules, and quality requirements

.Ensure procurement activities comply with BCA, MOM, and internal financial policies and procedures

.Handle import and export documentation and regulatory filings for overseas materials and equipment

.Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and track deliveries to site and workshop

.Verify invoices, monitor supplier payments, and coordinate with Finance on payment matters

.Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier contracts, and documentation for audit and reference

.Maintain strict confidentiality of pricing, contract terms, and procurement strategies

.Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, site teams, and workshop staff to align procurement with project schedules

.Assist in resolving supplier disputes, delivery issues, and procurement-related matters

Requirements

.Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines

.1-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in construction, structural steel, or engineering

.Familiarity with BCA and MOM regulations and procurement compliance in Singapore

.Experience handling suppliers, documentation, and procurement systems

.Strong coordination, negotiation, and organisational skills

.Proficient in Microsoft Office experience with ERP systems is an advantage

.Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a project environment
