Identify, evaluate, and select vendors and suppliers based on quality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and delivery speed.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements.
Create and issue purchase orders (POs) and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and forecast future material needs to prevent shortages and ensure timely availability of materials on site.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing collaboration, resolve issues promptly, and optimize procurement processes.
Work closely with project directors, project managers and accounting to monitor and control project procurement costs within budgetary constraints.
Verify materials received meet specified quality standards and escalate any discrepancies or issues to appropriate stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
Support ISO audits with complete and accurate documentation when necessary
Provide administrative support for cross-departmental coordination and ad-hoc duties
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
3-5 years of procurement experience, ideally in the construction industry.
Strong background in freight forwarding, shipping, and international logistics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, dashboards).
Meticulous with a strong focus on data accuracy.
Able to analyse and present procurement data clearly.
Well-organized and efficient in handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Familiar with procurement SOPs and adheres to compliance standards.
Self-motivated and takes initiative to resolve issues proactively.
Strong problem-solving skills, especially in supply and billing matters.
