Purchaser (Gas)

Responsibilities

• Source and procure industrial, specialty, or bulk gas products in accordance with operational requirements.

• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and supply agreements with gas suppliers and distributors.

• Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory developments within the maritime industry.

• Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory levels to ensure continuous supply.

• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.

• Coordinate with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate billing.

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.

• Resolve supply chain disruptions, shortages, or quality-related issues promptly.

• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation for audit purposes.

Requirements

• Diploma in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.

• Minimum 2-3 years of procurement experience in shipping, ship management, or marine-related industries.

• Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, technical stores, and vessel operations is preferred.

• Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, with strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
