Job Description

We're Hiring: Purchaser (Carrier)!

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser (Carrier) to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in procurement, particularly within the logistics or transportation sector. You will play a crucial role in sourcing carriers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.

Location: Singapore, Singapore
Work Mode: Work From Office
Role: Purchaser (Carrier)

Salary: S$4,600 to S$6,000 monthly

Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors for vessel-related spare parts, consumables, and services.

  • Manage procurement activities for assigned vessels in compliance with company policies and budget guidelines.

  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Coordinate with vessel superintendents, technical teams, and suppliers to ensure accurate specifications and delivery schedules.

  • Monitor order status and expedite deliveries to avoid vessel downtime.

  • Compare quotations and conduct cost analysis to achieve optimal pricing and quality standards.

  • Ensure purchases comply with maritime regulations, class requirements, and company HSSE policies.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor database, and documentation for audit purposes.

  • Handle supplier performance evaluations and resolve discrepancies related to delivery, quality, or invoicing.

  • Support inventory planning and spare parts forecasting to ensure operational readiness of vessels.

Requirements
  • Diploma in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 23 years of procurement experience in shipping, ship management, or marine-related industries.

  • Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, technical stores, and vessel operations is preferred.

  • Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, with strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
