Public Relations Associate Director

Sandpiper, one of the fastest growing reputation and policy management consultancies in the world, is seeking an Associate Director to join our firm.

We are looking for a creative, energetic, and experienced strategic communications professional to join our regional Asia Pacific team, based in Singapore. The ideal candidate will participate in shaping client strategies and contributing to the growth and management of the agency business in Asia Pacific.

The ideal candidate will also have prior experience at a communications consultancy, strong media relations on both local and regional levels, confident overseeing client programs, and have a track record of building strong relationships based on trust and respect.

A polished professional with impeccable written and verbal communications skills, the successful candidate will have a deep and broad understanding of some of the core sectors we work in. Experience in creating thought leadership pieces and a flair for creativity is also an advantage.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in strategic communications
• Ability to advise and direct C-Level clients/stakeholders according to their needs
• Capable of multi-tasking on multiple projects - managing priorities and meeting deadlines, while maintaining high attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree at a minimum (a plus if it is in related fields such as English, journalism, politics, economics or business)
• An understanding of government and public affairs is desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills

Roles and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting Sandpiper's client work in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific region. Your role will also include:

• Ensuring a high level of client service and providing leadership on client accounts
• Providing support and leadership on issues and crisis management
• Leading and mentoring teams in Singapore and across the region
• Maintaining a good understanding of client's business objectives, and the issues in their sector
• Building and maintaining strong and trusted relationships with clients and key business stakeholders
• Leading the development of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies
• Supporting and leading new business development and marketing activities in partnership with other senior team members
• Keeping up to date with the latest issues around Sandpiper's core sectors
