The Public Affairs Manager drives and executes on the company's advocacy, issues management, and thought leadership agenda with a strong focus on public policy and regulatory affairs. Working with the Asia Pacific region team, the incumbent will provide public policy depth necessary to represent the business on issues affecting trade, customs, aviation, supply chains and other regulatory matters. The incumbent will report to the Region Vice President for Corporate Affairs and collaborate closely with business leaders and other Corporate Affairs team members throughout the Asia Pacific Region.
This is a team contributor role, based in Singapore.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Government Affairs lead for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand responsible for advocacy, issues management and thought leadership.
- Analyze public policy issues and understand international best practices
- Represent the business in interactions with government, trade associations, and other stakeholders on policy and regulatory matters.
- Act as liaison between UPS and external stakeholders, communicating to internal stakeholders to enhance understanding of stakeholder interests.
- Develop programs to support Country Managers and business planning teams
- Develop and drive political and regulatory risk management mitigation plans.

Job Requirements:
- Minimum degree qualification in International Affairs, Political Science or equivalent
- At least five years relevant experience working on public policy issues with a good network amongst policy makers
- Demonstrate good grasp of regional and local politics and cultures
- Ability to gather information, analyze and synthesize for reporting and strategy development purposes
- Ability to communicate effectively, strong writing and public speaking skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, rigorous, and results-oriented environment
- Strong interpersonal, planning, organizing and execution skills a plus
- Focus on collective strategy, cross-functional collaboration and results
