What The Role Is
As a Psychologist, you will provide psychological assessment, intervention, programme development and consultation services to support the rehabilitation of offenders in institution and community-based settings.
The role involves supporting the rehabilitation of high-risk offenders with complex needs, including violence, sexual violence and personality-related concerns, through evidence-informed correctional practices.
What You Will Be Working On
- Deliver group-based and individualised psychological interventions for sexual, violent and other high-risk offenders with complex needs, across institutional and community-based settings.
- Conduct psychological risk assessments and prepare risk assessment reports to support pre-sentencing, intervention emplacement, pre-release planning and offender management.
- Develop, review and evaluate Psychology-based Correctional Programmes using current correctional theories, psychological frameworks and evidence-informed practices.
- Provide training, coaching and consultation to uniformed officers and collaborate with correctional units to support effective rehabilitation and management practices.
- Contribute to offender rehabilitation policies, service development, research initiatives and institutional or national crisis response efforts where required.
What We Are Looking For
- Relevant qualification in Psychology.
- Strong interest in correctional rehabilitation, forensic psychology, offender assessment and intervention.
- Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
