Job Description
We are seeking a Physical Security Consultant to support a range of protective security projects, including SecuritybyDesign (SBD) work required under the Infrastructure Protection Act, as well as broader security design, planning, and risk assessment engagements.
This role is ideal for individuals early in their protective security career who want hands-on experience across development projects, infrastructure facilities, and security system planning. You will work closely with senior consultants to deliver assessments, design reviews, and security planning solutions.
Support Security-by-Design (SBD) and IPA Compliance Work
- Assist in preparing SBD reports, documentation, and regulatory submissions.
- Conduct preliminary research on protective security requirements for various project types.
- Participate in project and agency discussions under the guidance of senior consultants.
Assist in Security Planning & Design for Other Security Projects
- Support the development of physical and electronic security concepts for commercial buildings, industrial sites, critical facilities, and public infrastructure.
- Assist in preparing design briefs, technical specifications, layout reviews, and integration plans for systems such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and protective barriers.
- Help review architectural, structural, and M&E drawings to identify security considerations and integration needs.
Support Threat, Vulnerability & Risk Assessments (TVRA)
- Assist in conducting site surveys, interviews, data gathering, and risk identification.
- Help prepare risk matrices, vulnerability analyses, and mitigation recommendations.
- Support the preparation of TVRA reports and presentation materials.
Project Coordination & Technical Support
- Track project deliverables, prepare meeting minutes, and maintain organised project documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, operators, and security system vendors.
- Assist in tender evaluations, proposal reviews, and solution comparisons.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Security, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or related fields.
- At least 2 years of experience in physical security, building design, facilities operations, or security technology (fresh graduates will be considered).
- Strong interest in protective security design, security risk assessment, and regulatory security work.
- Good analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
