A multi-strategy hedge fund is looking for prop traders running both systematic and/or discretionary strategies. There will be meaningful capital allocations, and full autonomy over their book.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute proprietary trading strategies using the firm's capital across global asset classes (equities, futures, options, FX, fixed income, commodities, and crypto).
- Run either systematic (quant-driven, backtested, automated) or discretionary (fundamental, catalyst-driven, relative value, or macro) strategies or a hybrid approach.
- Manage live risk in real-time, optimize execution, and maintain strict risk limits while maximizing risk-adjusted returns.
- Conduct ongoing research, backtesting (for systematic ideas), and idea generation (for discretionary books) to refine and expand your strategies.
- Analyze performance attribution, market regimes, and positioning to continuously improve your edge.
- Collaborate selectively with central quant research, technology, and risk teams for tools, data, and infrastructure support.
- Contribute directly to the firm's overall profitability through your personal PNL.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven track record of consistent, risk-adjusted profitability (Sharpe >1.5) from live trading from previous prop/hedge fund seat or bank flow desk.
- Deep expertise in at least one asset class or strategy type (systematic stat arb, index rebalance, event-driven, volatility, macro, relative value, etc.).
- For systematic traders: Proficiency in Python or similar for research, backtesting, and light automation.
- For discretionary traders: Strong fundamental analytical skills, catalyst identification, and real-time decision-making ability.
- Excellent risk management discipline and emotional composure under pressure.
- Quantitative degree (Math, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance) preferred; advanced degree a plus.
- Self-starter mindset with high ownership and intellectual curiosity.
