Project Officer (Multimodal Data Mining)

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position ofProject Officer for Multimodal Data Mining. This position supports the development of an end-to-end workflow for scientific literature curation, focusing on the extraction, standardization, and analysis of reaction data from published articles and supplementary materials. The role involves developing rule-based and agent-based approaches to process multimodal scientific information and improve data quality and consistency across large literature datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain workflows for extracting reaction parameters from text, tables, and figures in scientific literature

• Scale workflows from proof-of-concept studies to larger literature collections

• Document methodologies and support reproducible data curation practices

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field

• Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data quality and consistency

• Experience with scientific data mining is advantageous

• Good written communication skills for technical documentation and reporting

• Ability to work independently
