Job Scope
The principal accountabilities of the job holder to:
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within the committed schedule and budget ensuring project issues are timely resolved or escalated to management for attention.
- Provide regular updates to management on the project progress, highlighting project milestones, issues and tracking project expenditure.
- Effectively engage and manage all relevant stakeholders to deliver system.
- Identify, manage project risks and implications to the project and to recommend mitigating measures.
- Manage contractual and payment matters affecting the projects and ensure that systems are operating according to service level agreements.
- Understand the various prevailing policies and security guidelines and to ensure the system and processes are designed to comply with these policies and guidelines.
- Ensure proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components so the system is delivered according to contractual requirements.
Depending on the candidate's suitability, he/ she can be tasked with one or more of the following secondary accountabilities:
- Work with external agencies and/or HTDs to enhance and enable intelligence on existing or new sensor systems through augmented analytics.
- Optimizing sensors deployed to minimise duplications through data engineering.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data acquired with good knowledge of cybersecurity practices.
- Collaborate with various teams to integrate sensors into backend applications and interface seamlessly with AI and data engineering teams.
- Collaborate with various agencies to maximise the synergies from the Whole-Of Government approach.
- Ability to simplify ideas, present and engage stakeholders and senior management.
- Keep abreast of technological advances in Sensors, data analysis, continual refinement of architectures and government policies & recommendations, etc
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or other related Engineering. Applicants with postgraduate qualifications and/or more than 5 years of experience working in the relevant technology domains will be considered for senior positions.
- At least 3 years of relevant networking working experience for Engineer/Lead Engineer and at least 8 years for Principal Engineer in a suitably sized enterprise environment. Candidates without working experience will also be considered.
Skills and Experience
Strong understanding in one or more of the following areas:
- Deployment and maintenance of Large-scale Front-End Sensors
- Work with multiple stakeholders on verifications of optimal on-site deployment
- Good understanding of System and Network Integration
- Infrastructure Construction to support ICT equipment (e.g. Structures, Electrical, Network Installation, Wireless Transmission, etc.)
- Cybersecurity on edge sensors integration
Candidate with knowledge video surveillance technology, including transmission technology, data storage system and data security technology and experience in critical operation activities will have an added advantage.
Strong planning and project management skills, with facilitation skills, problem-solving skills and organising capabilities. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification would be an advantage.
Strong interest in technology and innovation.
Contract Duration: 2 years
Working Arrangement
Mon -Thurs : 8:30am - 6:00pm
Friday : 8:30am - 5:30pm
(inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)
