Company Overview

QAM Asia is a leading technical service provider specializing in semiconductor and bio-pharmaceutical industries, offering installation, calibration, QA/QC consulting, and management with extensive expertise in FDA/EMEA regulatory compliance and a vast inventory of analytical equipment.

Job Summary

Lead and manage a team of QA/QC engineers and technicians to ensure semiconductor construction projects meet stringent quality standards through inspections, testing, documentation, and team coaching on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise engineers and technicians managing mechanical and process-piping QA/QC scopes on active semiconductor construction sites, including UHP and specialty gases, high-purity piping, and process utilities.
  • Conduct and oversee critical inspections such as weld fit-up, visual checks, walk-downs against P&IDs, ISO drawings, and hold-point sign-offs to ensure compliance and progress gating.
  • Witness and verify pressure, helium leak, moisture, oxygen, and particle-purity tests, ensuring all results are accurately documented and traceable.
  • Review and annotate Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements (MOS), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and material submittals to verify authenticity before installation.
  • Manage and resolve Site Observation Reports (SORs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), coaching crews to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date and audit-ready quality records in digital project management systems through testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and owner teams to ensure smooth site operations and quality compliance.

Required competencies and certifications

  • 4-7 years of QA/QC site experience in semiconductor, electronics, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or comparable high-spec industrial construction.
  • Hands-on expertise in process and high-purity piping, including orbital welding, tube fit-up, fittings, valves, pressure testing, and leak/purity validation.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, layouts, and technical specifications, applying ASME, ANSI, ASTM, and relevant codes.
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience with strong discipline in maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites with cross-functional coordination.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience with UHP gas/high-purity systems and semiconductor fab or ATM facilities.
  • Familiarity with CxAlloy, Autodesk ACC, or similar QA platforms.
  • Background in testing, commissioning, and handover (T&C) processes.
