Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management and execution of the Projects, a multi-year collaborative R&D programme focused on smart and sustainable manufacturing solutions for the FMCG Pillar.
The role provides dedicated project management to ensure successful delivery of 17 concurrent projects, effective stakeholder engagement with the members and compliance with A.STAR and IAF-ICP governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of projects, from project initiation through execution, review, and close-out.
- Develop and maintain integrated projects plans, schedules, milestones, and dependency tracking across multiple workstreams.
- Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
- Lead risk, issue, and change management at project level.
Industry & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary project management interface with T1 Anchor stakeholders.
- Coordinate across internal A.STAR stakeholders, including ARTC, research institutes, and corporate functions.
- Support steering committees, technical reviews, and formal project meetings.
Governance, Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare project reports, presentations, and documentation for:
- Project governance reviews
- IAF-ICP and internal funding reviews
- Management updates
- Ensure compliance with A.STAR governance frameworks, contractual obligations, and reporting requirements.
- Track and manage cash and in-kind contributions in collaboration with finance and PMO teams.
Delivery Enablement & Coordination
- Support Principal Investigators and technical leads in translating research outcomes into deployable manufacturing solutions.
- Facilitate coordination across work packages to ensure alignment with industry needs and deployment timelines.
- Support pilot deployments, demonstrations, and technology validation activities where required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications or project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1-5 years of experience in project management.
- Proven experience managing multi-project, multi-stakeholder projects
- Prior exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, industrial automation, or smart manufacturing projects is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in industry-public sector collaborations, joint labs, or consortium-based programmes is an advantage.
Technical & Domain Knowledge
- Familiarity with manufacturing or Industry 4.0 domains such as:
- Smart production systems
- Manufacturing analytics or AI-enabled solutions
- Automation or digital manufacturing platforms
- Ability to work effectively with R&D teams without being a technical specialist.

- Strong programme planning, coordination, and execution skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, including engagement with global MNC partners.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a governance-driven environment.
- Able to manage complexity and ambiguity in large, high-visibility programmes.
