Project Manager Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects while ensuring deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budget requirements. This role serves as the primary point of contact between stakeholders, team members, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies. Lead project teams through all phases from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client expectations.
Stakeholder Management Serve as primary liaison between clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams. Facilitate regular communication, manage expectations, and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership Coordinate cross-functional teams, assign tasks, and provide direction to ensure efficient workflow. Foster collaboration and resolve conflicts to maintain productive team dynamics.
Budget & Resource Management Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Allocate resources effectively and adjust plans as needed to optimize efficiency.
Risk Management Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans. Proactively address issues before they impact project success.
Quality Assurance Establish quality standards, conduct regular reviews, and ensure deliverables meet specifications. Implement corrective actions when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting Maintain comprehensive project documentation, prepare status reports, and present updates to leadership. Track key performance indicators and project metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years of project management experience
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, etc.)
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies
- Familiar with Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC)
