About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and field deployment of embodied AI and robotics programmes within the Innovation Lab. This role owns end-to-end delivery of robotics pilots, proof-of-concepts, and production rollouts — spanning hardware integration, AI model deployment on physical platforms, site readiness, safety compliance, and client handover. The Project Manager works closely with Forward Deploy Engineers, Robotics and AI Engineers, Solution Architects, OEM/vendor partners, and client operations teams to translate use cases into deployed, operating robotic systems. Note: This role will receive performance bonus based on KPIs.
1. Project & Programme Delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery of embodied AI and robotics projects — scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, and risk.
- Develop project plans, delivery milestones, and RAID logs across pilot, POC, and production rollout phases.
- Coordinate cross-functional squads spanning robotics engineering, AI/ML, integration, and field deployment.
2. Robotics Deployment & Field Operations
- Plan and oversee on-site deployment activities including site surveys, environment mapping, and network readiness.
- Coordinate commissioning, calibration, and acceptance testing of robotic platforms at client premises.
- Establish operational runbooks, escalation paths, and maintenance schedules for deployed fleets.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements for robot operations.
- Manage post-deployment support cycles, incident tracking, and continuous improvement actions.
3. Technical Coordination & Solution Governance
- Work with engineering leads to align system architecture, integration interfaces, and deployment approach.
- Translate client use cases into delivery-ready requirements, acceptance criteria, and test plans.
- Review technical documentation covering integration designs, data flows, and operational procedures.
- Track performance against agreed benchmarks such as task success rate, uptime, and intervention frequency.
- Maintain sufficient technical fluency in robotics stacks, embodied AI models, and sensor/actuator systems to challenge assumptions and unblock teams.
4. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for client sponsors, operations leads, and site stakeholders.
- Facilitate kick-offs, workshops, demonstrations, and milestone reviews.
- Communicate technical progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Drive change management and user adoption activities for teams working alongside robotic systems.
5. Vendor, Partner & Ecosystem Management
- Manage relationships with robotics OEMs, hardware suppliers, systems integrators, and technology partners.
- Coordinate vendor deliverables, service levels, warranty terms, and support arrangements.
- Support pre-sales activities with delivery estimates, resourcing models, and implementation roadmaps.
- Contribute to internal playbooks, deployment accelerators, and lessons-learned repositories.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of project or delivery management experience, with at least 2 years on robotics, IoT, industrial automation, or hardware-integrated technology programmes.
- Proven track record delivering field deployments involving physical hardware at client or operational sites.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, integration, and operations.
- Exposure to the full delivery lifecycle from pilot and POC through to scaled rollout and steady-state support.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin to effectively support collaboration with regional teams and partners.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certifications are preferred.
- Prior experience in a startup, systems integrator, or innovation lab setting is preferred.
